Limerick Ladies Football Championship Finals:   15/09/2017

Limerick Ladies Football Championship Final’s take Centre Stage this Saturday:

On Saturday, 16 September Limerick Ladies Football Championship Champions will be known.

Knockainey GAA Pitch will host the Junior Final at 9 am, where last year’s beaten finalists Gerald Griffins take on Groody Gaels.

Bruff will host a double header:
Intermediate Final: 2 pm   Athea v St Brigids
Senior Final: 4 pm   Ballylanders v Monagea

The Intermediate Final will be contested by Athea, last year’s County finalists, who are currently unbeaten in the Championship and St Brigids who overcame Oola in a very close semi final.

he senior final will see Ballylanders (going for their third county title in a row) taking on Monagea.

The senior final promises to be a very tight affair.  In the senior quarter finals Monagea overcame Mungret/St Paul’s in extra time and likewise Feohanagh/Castlemahon overcame Murroe/Boher after extra time.  The semi-finals produced a great feast of football in very difficult weather conditions last weekend in Rathkeale, with Ballylanders overcoming Feohanagh/Castlemahon after extra time and only two points separating them in the end, likewise Monagea overcoming St Ailbes (last year’s County Finalists) after extra time and a points shoot out, with only a single point between them.

Interesting fact, all teams contesting todays county finals, will have a change of Jersey’s due to a clash of club colours.
